The answer to today’s Wordle is “BREED”.
The word “Breed” is both a verb and a noun. The verb form usually means to produce offspring, though it can also be used for other things, such as “pain can breed violence” and “good management can breed happy workers”. The noun refers to a type or kind of thing, such as “an exotic breed of chicken”.
According tothe Online Etymology Dictionary, the origin of “Breed” is the old English word “bredan,” meaning to bring young into the world and the German “bruten,” meaning to brood or hatch.
