The capabilities of Chromebooks are improving all the time, and one new feature has made them even more useful: virtual desktops. While it’s not a new feature for desktop computers, it can be a game-changer for the Chromebook.
A Power Desktop Feature
Virtual desktops have been a staple of Linux desktops for a long time.Even Windows users have been enjoying virtual desktopssince Windows 10, which included native support for them.
A virtual desktop lets you split one physical screen into several desktops that you can switch between. Virtual desktops let you create distinct groups of application windows. You might devote one desktop to your work, another to social media, and so on.

Adding this feature to the Chromebookmakes it more competitive with other platforms.
Makes Good Use of Screen Space
One reason that virtual desktops are so welcome on Chromebooks is that they tend to come with smaller screens, usually 14 inches or less.
Virtual desktops let you make more effective use of the smaller screen on your Chromebook without having to plug in an external monitor.
