Summary

The latest entry in Cal Kestis' story,Star Wars Jedi: Survivor, is coming to last-gen consoles. Respawn Entertainment’s title launched on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, and PC on July 26, 2025, and was largely well-received by critics. Despite a rocky launch with performance issues and bugs,Star Wars Jedi: Survivorwas praised for its story, exploration, and gameplay, with a variety of new gadgets, Force techniques, and combat tactics - including a blaster and lightsaber combo - for players to utilize.

Considering the aforementioned bugs players were already experiencing on current-gen hardware, many were surprised when EA announcedStar Wars Jedi: Survivorwould be coming to PlayStation 4 and Xbox One in an earnings call in August 2023. The first title in the series,Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order, launched on these platforms - and received a free update for the next generation of consoles when they were released - so withSurvivor’s last-gen launch, players should be able to enjoy both entries in Cal Kestis' journey without the pressure of buying a new console.
