A New Version Of St. Elmo’s Fire Is Contingent On One Factor
Reuniting The Brat Pack Remains A Difficult Feat
St. Elmo’s FireandThe Breakfast Club, both of which were released in 1985, defined themembers of the Brat Pack, a nickname given to the young group of actors who frequently starred together in teen-oriented coming-of-age films from the 1980s. The documentaryBrats, which was released on Hulu on June 13, offered an in-depth exploration of the Brat Pack and the significant impact it had on both their personal and professional lives. As a result, the documentary sparked a renewed interest in the Brat Pack and their work from the 1980s.
In light of this renewed interest, it was reported that Sony is circling the possibility of making a newSt. Elmo’s Firemovie. However, since the project would be a legacy sequel of sorts,it would be contingent on reuniting the entire main cast, including Estevez, Lowe, McCarthy, Moore, Nelson, Sheedy, and Winningham. Lowe has now confirmed that these reports are in fact true, though the project is still in the very early stages of development, and reunitingthe Brat Pack for another movieremains a difficult feat.

St Elmo’s Fire Cast: Where Are They Now?
St. Elmo’s Fire is one of the movies that helped cement the Brat Pack, but the actors have all moved on from teen roles since the 1980s.
One key aspect of theBratsdocumentary, directed by McCarthy, is that many of the actors involved were uncomfortable with being labeled as Brat Packers. For instance, some members, such as Nelson, didn’t participate in the documentary at all. Due to this friction, it will be difficult to get the entire main cast to reunite for a new version ofSt. Elmo’s Fire. However, as Lowe reveals, they are at least in the very early stages of trying.
