Here’s everything you need to know about Booster Gold, including his origin in DC Comics and how his story can tie into the new DC Universe.
Why Antony Starr Playing Booster Gold In The DCU Would Be Perfect
The Actor Has The Range For The Hero
If he were to end up playing Booster Gold in the DCU, then Starr would be an amazing choice for the hero. With a solo series, the DCU can use Booster Gold beyond his surface aspect. The character is mostly known for his comedic persona. Booster Gold rarely takes situations seriously, underestimating enemies, making fun of allies, and propping himself up while doing so. Starr’s few comedic scenes as Homelander show he would be great if cut loose.
That said, it is another side of hisThe Boysvillain that shows Starr could be perfect to leadBooster Goldin the DCU. Michael Carter, aka Booster Gold, carries a lot of trauma related to his upbringing and personal choices. While Starr shows a hardened exterior as Homelander, the character is deeply insecure and also carries a lot of trauma from his childhood. That connection would make sure that he gets Booster’s motivations right.

Booster Gold is also a different breed of superhero. The character constantly tries to prop up his image, even selling ad spaces in his superhero suit at times in the comics. Since Homelander is the head of Vought, a corporation that thrives on controlling superheroes' images, the actor would be an easy fit for the role. Having the experience, looks, and skills to pull off a hilarious and complexBooster Gold, perhaps there is a chance James Gunn will convince Antony Starr to play the role in the DCU in the future.
