The Best Keyboard Keycaps

Keyboard keycaps have a tendency to wear over time. In some cases, it’s even possible to lose keycaps if you have removed them from your keyboard to clean them.
Replacement keycaps may not always be from the same brand as the keyboard you own, but that doesn’t necessarily mean they won’t work just as well (or even better). With plenty of different styles and designs, there is a lot of choice when it comes to suitable replacement keycaps.
Here are the best keyboard keycaps available today.

1. JSJT PBT Keycaps
If you want to brighten up your keyboard, the JSJT PBT Keycaps are going to do the job pretty well. Available in a few different styles and colors, these work on most keyboards including 60%, TKL, etc.
The oil-resistant coating makes the JSJT PBT Keycaps a lot more hardwearing, alongside the PBT material. Set to OEM profile, you’ll find these keyboard keycaps similar, if not a little higher, than Cherry keys.

Due to the colors used and the thickness of the keycaps, the JSJT PBT Keycaps don’t do the best job of allowing RGBs or backlights to shine through very well. There’s a subtle glow, but if you’re looking for bright lights, these probably aren’t the right keyboard keycaps for you.
2. HyperX Pudding Keycaps
Compatible with most mechanical keyboards, the HyperX Pudding Keycaps feature an OEM profile full 104 key set. And, to make life easier, there’s a keycap removal tool so you may safely remove your old keycaps without damaging them or your keyboard’s switches.
Unfortunately, if you have a 60% keyboard, TKL, or any other type of layout, the HyperX Pudding Keycaps won’t be suitable. These are for full keyboard layouts only. They are available in a variety of colors and styles including white, pink, and black.

In comparison to the JSJT PBT Keycaps, the HyperX Pudding Keycaps allow light to shine through sufficiently. They aren’t as thick, which may be an issue for some, but if you’re into RGBs, you’ll be pleased with the results.
3. Redragon A130 Pink Pudding Keycaps
If you’re after an affordable set of replacement keyboard keycaps, the Redragon A130 Pink Pudding Keycaps is a budget-friendly option. These keycaps are available in pink, white, and black, and feature a white translucent layer to allow light to shine through.
There is a keycap remover tool included, but in honesty, it’s not the best. If you’re purchasing the Redragon A130 Pink Pudding Keycaps, it may be worth investing in a separate tool so you don’t damage the keycaps or switches.

While most of the keys light up well, you may be disappointed by the spacebar; it doesn’t light up as much in comparison. But, if this isn’t a dealbreaker, you’ll be happy with this affordable set of replacement keyboard keycaps.
4. Razer Doubleshot PBT Keycaps
These doubleshot PBT keycaps from Razer are a great investment. They are available in white, black, pink, and green, and include a total of 120 keycaps. They are compatible with standard 104/105 US/UK layouts and fit extremely well.
The oil-resistant coating ensures extra durability, so even if you use these keyboard keycaps every day for typing or gaming, you’ll find they won’t fade easily. Similarly, they fit snugly on the switches with no issues.
The only downside to the Razer Doubleshot PBT Keycaps is that the ultra-thin font can block out some light. The extra thick walls are great for durability, but if you want an RGB-heavy setup, the HyperX Pudding Keycaps may be a better option.
5. SteelSeries PRISMCAPS
Similar in quality to the Razer Keycaps, the SteelSeries PRISMCAPS are solidly built and fit well. They are comfortable to type on and game on, with the brightness level feeling just about right; not too bright, but not too dull either.
There are two designs available; black and white. The SteelSeries PRISMCAPS are compatible with most keyboards including TKL, 60%, and standard US ANSI.
To top it off, the included keycap removal tool includes a finger-hole grip which is really convenient. This means you can safely remove your old keyboard keycaps with no damage.
6. G.SKILL Crystal Crown Keycaps
Affordable, durable, and compatible with full-size ANSI 104 layouts, the G.SKILL Crystal Crown Keycaps are a great choice. There’s a keycap removal tool included, too, despite the lower price.
Thanks to the transparent keys, RGBs and keyboard backlights shine through nicely. While these aren’t PBT keycaps, they are still a good investment, even if they might not last as long as other options.
