Red Dead Redemptionand its expansionUndead Nightmareare finally coming to the PC 14 long years after the game’s original release. The hit open-world Western adventure and its zombie horror side storywill launch on PC on October 29 via the Rockstar Store, Steam, and Epic Games Store.
The PC port was created in collaboration with Double Eleven, who also handled the PlayStation 4 and Nintendo Switch versions ofRed Dead Redemptionfor publisher Rockstar Games. An announcement trailer on theRockstar GamesYouTube channel reveals that the PC port will includenative 4K, up to 144hz, monitor support for Ultrawide and Super Ultrawide resolutions, and keyboard and mouse support.

According to the video description, the port will also include “support for NVIDIA DLSS 3.7 and AMD FSR 3.0 upscaling technologies, NVIDIA DLSS Frame Generation, adjustable draw distances, shadow quality settings, and more.”
PC Fans No Longer Have To Use Illicit Means To Play The Game
Red Dead Redemption wasreleased in 2010 for the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360. The Switch and PS4 ports launched on August 02, 2025, but until now, PC gamers have been left out. This is in keeping withRockstar’s tendency to exclude its PC fans,as even the upcomingGTA VI probably won’t have a PC versionat launch.
10 Features Red Dead Redemption 1 On PC Must Include
While the PC release of RDR will likely be similar to the console version, there’s still a chance the developers will surprise fans with new features.
Until now,PC owners had to resort to playing unofficial ports of the game, which were often poorly done and extremely buggy. In stark contrast, it only took Rockstar one year to bring the second installment in the series,Red Dead Redemption 2,to PC a year after its 2019 console launch.

John Is Sure To Have Some Ridiculous New Rides
BringingRed Dead Redemptionto the PC opens it up to a whole new world of customization. It won’t be long beforeRDRgets mods of all kinds, from the helpful to the ludicrous. My favorite idea comes from userTheGamingLemonin a comment on the announcement trailer on YouTube, whoimagines John zooming around the 1900s-era American Southwest in a cybertruck. The inclusion ofUndead Nightmareis a nice touch, making this a great purchase for the Halloween season.
An official PC port is also a promising moment for fans who have been requesting other classics from the Rockstar Games catalog to be ported for years. So far, the publishers have only broughtGTA 4 and 5to PC, if we exclude 1999’sGTA 2. Bringing a beloved game to PC, even this many years later, mayindicate that the company is working on making other games accessible to their computer-player fans, from older titles to upcoming games.
Both the game and its expansion will be available for PC on October 29. Preorders forRed Dead Redemptionand Undead Nightmare will be available before that on the Rockstar Store, the Epic Games Store, and Steam.
