As it turns out,Dick Grayson’s ex-girlfriend Bea Bennett, surprisingly, had a very similar life trajectory, where she witnessed the death of a parent, before being whisked away into a fantastical life.

After Dick Grayson’s parents were killed, he was adopted by Bruce Wayne and quickly found a life much larger than the one he had before. Dick was trained to be Robin and has become one of the most influential and beloved heroes in DC’s mythology. While theloss of his parents was a tragedy, he gained another life and a new family thanks to Bruce Wayne reaching out to him and bringing him into a new world. While Bea Bennett wasn’t given nearly the lavish opportunities that Dick was, their tragedies still led them to similar places.
