What Happened In Nier: Automata Ver1.1a Episode 15?

Produced By A-1 Pictures; Directed By Yoshiyuki Kumeda

Nier: Automata Ver1.1aepisode #15, “no [I] in team,” opened with YoRHa’s final assault against the machine lifeforms from 2B’s perspective, with her team also inevitably falling victim to the Logic Virus. Fortunately,9S managed to show up in time to save 2B and prevent the Logic Virus from overtaking her, but a wave of machine lifeforms and corrupted YoRHa soldiers soon descended upon them and overwhelmed them. With no other choice, 2B and 9S ignited their black boxes to blow themselves up and return to the Bunker in new bodies to try and get help directly.

After returning to the Bunker, 2B and 9S went to tell the commander what was going on, and while she was initially ignorant of everything, that was because the central AI of the machine lifeforms had hacked the Bunker and fed her false recordings of what was happening on Earth. The Operators, now corrupted by the Logic Virus, then attacked 2B, 9S, and the commander, and while they escaped the first wave, not only did the machine lifeforms trigger the Bunker’s self-destruct sequence, butthe commander was forced to kill Operator 6O, 2B’s Operator, after she fell victim to the Logic Virus.

As the group made their way to the flight units, the commander revealed that she had been infected with the Logic Virus and was staying behind on the Bunker, both so she couldn’t attack them after the Logic Virus fully overtook her and because she felt it was her duty to stay behind on the Bunker in its final moments. 2B and 9S reluctantly left the commander behind as the Bunker exploded and they became all that was left of YoRHa, and the episode ended with A2 watching them descend onto the planet.
