At Paramount+’s SDCC panel for the Star Trek Universe, for whichScreen Rantwas in attendance,Star Trekexecutive producer Alex Kurtzman announced"the first live-action Star Trek comedy.“As reported byThe Hollywood Reporter, the newStar Trekshow is workplace comedy in the vein of shows likeThe OfficeandPark and Recreationwritten and produced byStar Trek: Lower Decksstar Tawny Newsome, Justin Simien (Dear White People), who moderatedStar Trek’s Hall H panel, and Alex Kurtzman. The comedy show is said tocenter on a group of Federation outsiders who work on a resort planet and whose daily exploits are being broadcast to the whole quadrant.
