Jaleel White’sStar Wars: Skeleton Crewcharacter has been revealed in a new image. The actor best known for playing Steve Urkel inFamily Mattersis part of a cast that also includes Jude Law, Kerry Condon, and Nick Frost.Skeleton Crew’s storyfollows four children who become lost in theStar Warsgalaxy and have to find their way home. It is set during the same time asThe Mandalorian,The Book of Boba Fett, andAhsoka, when the New Republic is in power.
The new image released byEntertainment Weeklyshows White as a character named Gunter, who is a member of a space pirate crewthat also includes Vane, a pirate introduced inThe Mandalorianseason 3. Check out the image below:
This pirate crew consists of both humans and aliens, with Gunter appearing to be a human with some cybernetic enhancements and having one of these enhancements over one of his eyes. In addition to Gunter and Vane, the crew’s other pirates featured in the image are named Brutus, Pax, and Chaelt.

Vane appears to have found his new pirate crew after his previous pirate captain, Gorian Shard, was defeated by Din Djarin and his comrades inThe Mandalorianseason 3.Gunter is poised to be one of the most important members of Vane’s new crewand will be among the antagonists thatSkeleton Crew’s children face. This will build on the pirate threat established inThe Mandalorianseason 3, proving the piracy issue goes far beyond what transpired on Nevarro, especially in the parts of the galaxy wherethe New Republichas less presence.
The pirates are an effective choice to becast asSkeleton Crew’s main villains. The new image teases how intimidating they can be, and they will be a genuine threat to the four young protagonists, Wim, KB, Neel, and Fern. At the same time,the pirates are more feasible for the children to defeat than a more formidable foe like Grand Admiral Thrawnwould be. Gunter and the other pirates will likely only be a threat inSkeleton Crew, with the Imperial Remnant being the larger enemy, although they could go on to appear in other shows just as Vane has done.
