Intel Arc Alchemist: Release Dates, Specs, and Prices
Intel is finally joining the GPU game with its Intel Arc Alchemist line of discrete cards. After years of development, the company finally released the entry-level Intel Arc 3 A350M and A370M laptop GPUs in March 2022.
However, while Intel has yet to release any desktop GPUs, we have details that’ll whet your appetite for the coming competitor to AMD Radeon and NVIDIA GeForce cards.

Here’s what we know so far.
Intel Arc Alchemist Models and Specifications
The Intel Arc discrete GPU line-up consists of four models: the entry-level Intel Arc 3 A380, the mid-range Intel Arc 5 A580, and the two top-of-the-line Intel Arc 7 chips, namely the A750 and the A770. The A770 Limited Edition also features a massive 16GBGDDR6 memory, offering a performance boost.
However, the details in Intel’s video are the only thing we have so far for all the GPUs, except for the Intel Arc A380. The complete specifications of its entry-level discrete GPU are now available on theIntel website. Here are the details for the A380:

How Much Are Intel Arc GPUs?
Intel’s entry-level A380 card is already available in China for around 1,149 Yuan, roughly equivalent to $160. True enough, you can now find anASRock Challenger Arc A380 card on Neweggfor $139.99, which is around the same ballpark.
Intel priced the top A770 card at $329, which is supposed to slot in between theRTX 3060 Ti and RTX 3070performance. Given that, its release price undercuts the 3060 Ti by $70 and the 3070 by $170. Intel also announced that the A750 starts at $289, making it more affordable than the RTX 3060 by $40.
The Intel Arc A580 will likely sell between $180 and $230, making it more affordable than the RTX 3050’s $249 launch price. However, the A580 price is just an estimate. We will have to wait until Intel actually releases the card for us to be sure of its SRP.
Intel Arc Release Dates
Although the Intel Arc A380 launched in June 2022, it was a China-only event, with the card being available only from Chinese retailers. Nevertheless, the entry-level GPU started to appear on US shelves by August 2022.
The top-end Intel Arc A770 and A750 are the next to release, with an announced availability on October 12. However, the A580 still doesn’t have a release date as of writing. Nevertheless, the GPU is expected to be released in either the 3rd or 4th quarter of 2022.
Here’s a quick recap of Intel’s A-series GPUs:

Intel Arc GPUs: Are You Ready to Try Something New?
Finally, after months of anticipation, we can get our hands on the new Intel discrete GPUs. While its cards don’t have the eye-watering performance of the RTX 4090 or the RX 6950 XT, it’s still great for consumers to finally have other options aside from Team Green (NVIDIA) or Team Red (AMD).
Besides, the Alchemist GPUs are just the beginning. Intel already has Battlemage, Celestial, and Druid in the works, ensuring that Intel Arc will have at least four GPU generations. As Intel gets feedback from its users and perfects the art and science of making a graphics card, we can only expect the video card competition to heat up, delivering more performance while lowering prices.
