I used to use Snapchat to share pictures with friends, but over the past few years, the app has added a lot of bells and whistles that make using it a nightmare. I’ve switched to the app Locket, which allows me to share photos with friends and family.
How Has Snapchat Changed?
I was already making my way off the app, but having to pay $3 per month to avoid ads was the final push.
Finally, Snapchat added an AI assistant that you cannot remove from your contacts. You canremove My AI from your recent chats, but you can’t avoid the AI assistant completely.

What Is Locket?

Locket is an app available oniOSandAndroidthat lets you share photos with friends. you’re able to also add a widget to your phone to see the photos your friends share without actually opening the app.
What Features Does Locket Have?
Locket operates similarly to the old days of Snapchat, where you may take a photo, send it to a friend or family member, and add a short caption. You can also react to photos your friends send and even privately message them on the app. One of my favorite features is the group option. I have groups to send photos to multiple friends at once.
Locket does have some ads, but they’re photos and only crop up when you’re scrolling through past photos that have been shared. Locket also rolled out a premium subscription plan, but you don’t need it to enjoy the simple feature of sharing photos with friends.
I like Locket because it takes away all the unnecessary additions that are now pervasive on Snapchat and focuses on just sharing photos with friends. While the premium version offers more features, I’m satisfied with sharing photos every once in a while and then chatting via text.
