How to Disconnect AirPlay on Your Mac

You can end an active AirPlay session on your Mac from the Control Center if you’re mirroring the screen or streaming audio to AirPlay-enabled speakers like HomePods. But if you want to stop streaming a video via AirPlay, you have to do that from the respective app.

For example, if you’re streaming a TV show in the Apple TV app, click the AirPlay icon once you access the playback controls and deselect the AirPlay device your Mac is connected to.
