Additional Options and Chime Tones
You can set up your chime tones and other options now, or you can go through these steps later using the Device Dashboard in the Ring app. You can choose several sounds, including the sound of a barking dog when someone rings your doorbell for added security. You can also choose a customized tone for when motion is detected.
What to Do if Your Device Is Registered to a Previous Owner
If your device is registered to a previous owner, you’ll need to go through some additional steps to set it up. One example of where this might be an issue is if you purchased a house and the previous owner left the Ring Chime for you. Or if you purchased a used Chime, you may need to go through these steps at the end of theSet Up a Deviceprocess:
Ring will send an automated email to the registered Ring Chime owner. If that person does not take action as described in the email within 14 days, your Ring Chime device will be unlinked from their Ring account, and your Ring Chime will be ready for you to set it up.

How to Factory Reset Your Chime
If you have trouble with the above steps, you might try resetting your device to its factory defaults. Depending on your Chime version, you should have a factory reset method such as a small, white button.
Plug your device into a wall outlet and push and hold your reset button for at least 15 seconds. Your device may also include a small pinhole, allowing you to use a paperclip to push the tiny button inside.

Always Hear Your Doorbell With a Ring Chime
