The Avatars of Lava inGenshin Impactare an important new enemy group from the region of Natlan, and the materials that they drop are used in the Ascension process for weapons from the Nation of Pyro. As such, if you intend on giving the Earth Shaker claymore to Kinich, for instance, you may see yourself forced to find the location of the Avatars of Lava and farm their materials. Avatars of Lava are but one of the many new types ofenemies inGenshin Impact5.0’s Natlan region, alongside Wayob Manifestations, Sauroform Tribal Warriors, and, of course, the Saurians.
Avatars of Lava, much like Wayob Manifestations and Secret Source Automaton: Hunter-Seekers, are elite enemies in Natlan. As such, their presence is a lot more limited across the Nation of Pyro, and they are often a lot tougher to beat than regular enemies. They do not match the power of some of the bosses, like Gluttonous Yumkasaur Mountain King and Goldflame Qucusaur Tyrant, but they have gameplay mechanics in combat that players must be wary of. There are two types of creatures that compose the larger Avatar of Lava group inGenshin Impact, each with its own set of skills.

Avatar Of Lava Locations In Genshin Impact 5.0
There Are Only Six Avatars Of Lava In The First Natlan Patch
As was previously mentioned, in Version 5.0, the presence of Avatars of Lava in Natlan is very scarce. According to the official interactive map onHoYoLAB,there are only six Avatars of Lava in Natlan, as of Version 5.0. There is a chance more will be added as the Natlan map expands with future patches, thus amplifying the chances of farming Ignited Stone, Ignited Seed of Life, and Ignited Seeing Eye, the Ascension materials that Avatars of Lava drop upon being defeated. Some Avatars of Lava can be defeated and looted from special challenges inGenshin Impact5.0.
Although this is not always the case, it is common for Avatars of Lava to present themselves in a pair. Two examples of this strategy can be seen in two groups of Avatars of Lava located southeast of Tepeacac Rise. Another individual Avatar of Lava can be found southwest of Tepeacac Rise, toward the direction of the central river leading to the Scions of the Canopy tribe –this creature is located in an underground portion. The last Avatar of Lava is located in the northern portion of the Sulfurous Veins inGenshin Impact.

Tips & Strategies To Beat Avatars Of Lava In Genshin Impact
Two Types Of Creatures Make For Two Different Approaches In Combat
Before facing the Avatars of Lava in Natlan, you need to know that they come in two forms, and each of them has a different elemental type. The Eroding Avatar of Lava is a more solid-like creature and the attacks it uses are Geo-based. This enemy does not have increased Resistance against any particular element, but Eroding Avatar of Lava can get weaker when hit by Pyro attacks. This is becauseEroding Avatar of Lava has a special state in which its gauge increases as it is hit by Pyro attacksinGenshin Impact.
When Eroding Avatar of Lava’s Overburn gauge hits certain thresholds, it takes Physical DMG equal to a portion of its Max HP and, if the Fury gauge reaches the limit, the enemy is defeated, even before its HP is necessarily depleted. Eroding Avatar of Lava’s skill set is quite simple, as it only has a few melee attacks.It is worth keeping an eye out for its rolling attacks and its rock hurl, both of which can deal a massive Geo blow to your active character’s HP bar.
For these fights, be sure to bring a shielder or healer inGenshin Impact.
The other creature that composes this enemy group is called Fluid Avatar of Lava. As exemplified by its name, this creature embodies the fluid state of lava and works much differently.Fluid Avatars of Lava are in a perpetual Pyro state and have increased Resistance to Pyro attacks. As such, it is clever to have a damage dealer of another element when facing this opponent. Contrary to the Eroding version, the Fluid Avatar of Lava excels at ranged attacks, spewing lava from afar and even using its bodily status to swim underground before reemerging for damage inGenshin Impact.
How To Get More Sanctifying Elixir In Genshin Impact
Sanctifying Elixir is a rare item in Genshin Impact that allows you to craft Artifacts and select both their main stat and up to two sub-stats.
Fluid Avatar of Lava does have a melee attack, but it is limited to when your active character is too close to it. The big trick about the fights against Avatars of Lava is that, normally, they present themselves in a duo made of both the Eroding Avatar of Lava and the Fluid Avatar of Lava. Because of this,it is clever to have a Pyro character on your team so as to activate the Overburn state on the Eroding Avatar of Lava, and a main DPS of another elemental typeto power through Fluid Avatar of Lava’s HP bar.
Of course, it is completely possible to take out Fluid Avatar of Lava with a Pyro DPS, such as Hu Tao orArlecchino inGenshin Impact.
Contrary to the Wayob Manifestations,the attacks used by both types of Avatars of Lava are not too telegraphed, especially when it comes to the ranged moves. There is a short charging time that could serve as a hint to dodge, but for these fights, especially if you do not have a shielder, it is best to stay quick on your feet, ready to dodge at any time.
