Summary

Stardew Valleymay not be a game rife with pranking opportunities butone player’s toddler taught them an entirely new way of voicing their disapproval of Pelican Town’s resident bus driver Pam. Given the sheer amount of content available inStardew Valley, it’s no wonder that players can often so easily overlook mechanics and items that may have proven useful during a playthrough. Sometimes, all it takes are the fresh eyes of a child to discover an interaction that may have gone unnoticed and the results are usually quite fun.

Is the Slingshot Worth Your Time In Stardew Valley?

For A Quick Joke, There’s Nothing Better

WhileStardew Valleydoes boast a small arsenal of deadly weapons suitable for slaying monsters in the county’s various dungeons, those looking for either a challenge or some light-hearted fun can instead use a Slingshot. Acquired as rewards in the lower level of the mines, the Slingshot and its upgraded version the Master Slingshot aren’t exactly effectivewhen it comes to combat but they are one ofthe few projectile-based weaponsin the game. While one might think the standard damage would be the same no matter the ammo, that’s not the case.

In the case of the above Redditor, they’re lucky their toddlerwas only using eggs to shoot Pamgiven that they only deal a maximum of 6dmg when used with the Master Slingshot. Some of the more powerful ammo types, like Iron Ore, Explosive Ammo, Gold Ore, and Iridium Ore are exponentially more deadlyand can make for excellent weapons in some ofStardew Valley’s more dangerous dungeons. When paired with the Master Slingshot, Iridium Ore can deal 202dmg, which can destroy many enemies in a single hit.

Despite this potent combination, the Slingshot isn’t truly recommended for those players who want to make a decent go ofStardew Valley’s dungeons. The tougher levels will often involvemonsters that are incredibly fastand move erratically, making aiming with the limited crossfire a challenge. It’s usually best to pack a sword and use the Slingshot to simply shoot eggs at Pam.
