Summary

Fallout 4’s settlements are a great way for players to get creative, building towns or structures using materials scavenged across the Wasteland to inhabit both the player and various survivors. It’s a nice change of pace from the brutality of the Wasteland and it can be extremely satisfying to see an area that was once decimated by nuclear fallout become thriving once again. Still, a new creation has just put many others to shame.

Redditorsirbalztook to the r/Fallout Subreddit to share an image of an enormous palace settlement that they built inFallout 4.The settlement is so impressive in its scale and design that it very quickly garnered praise from the community, with some comparing it to theParisfashion event inHitman: World of Assassination, or Fairfax Gardens and the castle fromFable 2, with others joking that “there’s no excuse for living in a wasteland,” especially withFallout 4taking place 200 years after the bombs fell, giving people plenty of time to rebuild.

A video onSirBalz’s YouTube account went into further detail, showing the interior of the palacewith chandeliers, pillars, and artwork, but also some punky graffiti and statues of guitarists and more, with a stage to host concerts. The video described the decor as what would happen “if Heavy Metal Raiders took over the Louvre after the Apocalypse.”

Some of the graffiti shown in the video walkthrough include the Peace and Anarchy symbols, the V fromV for Vendetta, and quotes such as John Lennon’s “Just give peace a chance” and “What a lovely day!” fromMad Max: Fury Road.

One Hidden Fallout 4 Location May Be The Best Location For A Settlement

One settlement is slightly off the beaten path in Fallout 4, but is definitely worth unlocking due to its scale, resources, and sheer potential.

Most Of The Palace Settlement Used A Single Mod

SirBalz Confirmed Which Mod They Used In The Comments

One of the first reactions to the palace was that it waslikely made using mods; however,SirBalzconfirmed it didn’t take as many mods as one would think. Most of the parts come from a single mod named “Snappy House Kit,” which uses parts already found in structures around the map.

Then came the question of how exactly SirBalz made their palace so big, as there is usually a limit to how much can be placed in a settlement at once.STANirvanaINDpointed out that most PC users who mod remove the limit entirely or set it to an incredibly high number, whileAgreeable-Gold-6160shared a link to the “Increased Build Limit Enhanced” mod that grants players far more capacity in their settlements. Meanwhile, console players canexploit a glitch to increase the sizeof their settlements.

With these tips and mods, it’s clear that there is no real limitation for those with a powerful enough PC and that creating a massive settlement inFallout 4akin to SirBalz' palace is just a matter of allocating time and patience to a project.
