Garmin has been making fitness trackers and smartwatches for years, but its niche caters to the hardcore fitness crowd. While the best Garmin smartwatches may not make the absolute best companion for your Android phone, they will allow you to track runs, hikes and swims, better than pretty much every other wearable out there. The good news is you don’t have to pay full price for aGarmin watch to track your runs, because there are plenty of deals available on all models, ranging from basic fitness trackers to the most durable and rugged models meant for extreme sports. We’ve done all the leg work, and rounded up the best deals for you below.
Best Garmin deals in January 2024
Garmin Instinct 2
The Garmin Instinct 2 45mm strikes a nice balance between size, ruggedness, features, and price. The health and fitness-tracking watch is water-rated to 100 meters, thermal and shock resistant, has a ton of built-in sports apps, and the battery lasts up to 21 days. Its fair price gets even more affordable with today’s $49 discount.
Garmin Forerunner 745
The Forerunner 745 is one of the most advanced fitness watches available on the market, designed to cater to the needs of runners, swimmers, and bikers. Amazon has a few colorways on sale for $350 right now, but if you don’t mind 3rd party Amazon sellers, you can get it for as low as $308.
Garmin Epix (Gen 2)
The Garmin Epix Gen 2 Watch is the pinnacle of the bulky, rugged, outdoor fitness watch category. It has a giant 1.3" touch display, titanium bezel, tons of outdoor-specific features like support for TopoActive and CourseView maps, and the battery can last for up to 16 days. It’s pricey, though, so we love when it goes on sale.
Garmin vivosmart 4
For those that would prefer the comfort and simplicity of a fitness band, over a full-blown watch, Garmin’s Vivosmart 4 is a great option. It offers advanced activity tracking and heart rate monitoring, and it’s the perfect combination of lightweight and durable. We also really like the price tag, on sale for just $87.
Garmin Venu Sq 2 - Music Edition
The Garmin Venu Sq 2 - Music Edition makes for an interesting smartwatch option. It has built-in GPS and loads of health/fitness tracking features, but it’s a lot more tame than Garmin’s other watch offerings. It can download and play your favorite streaming playlists, the battery lasts for up to 11 days, and right now it’s $40 off.
Garmin Venu 3S
While most fitness watches sport bulky and boring designs, the Garmin - Venu 3S features a smaller 41mm casing with a stainless steel and ivory aesthetic. It still has all the health and fitness-tracking features, and a long-lasting battery, they are just crammed into a different shell. $24 off isn’t a significant discount, but with a retail price of $450, we’ll take whatever we can get.

How to find good Garmin deals
Garmin makes a lot of different trackers, from basic models like the Vivosmart to the incredibly sophisticated Epix line; the best way to find Garmin deals is typically by looking at slightly older models. Outside the big holiday sales events like Black Friday/Cyber Monday and Amazon Prime Day, it can be hard to find noteworthy deals on the absolute newest Garmin models. That being said, we do see 3-day and week-long flash sales on these smartwatches periodically, which is why you should revisit this post and Android Police frequently for the latest deals.
Are Garmin watches worth buying?
Garmin’s watches are absolutely worth buying because of their ruggedness, their long list of health and fitness-tracking features, and impressive battery life. They also have a decent third-party app selection (though nowhere near that of Wear OS or Apple Watch), meaning you can download apps like Uber and Spotify, and they support both iOS and Android devices. All of this being said, it bears repeating that these watches lean far more towards fitness trackers than they do smartphone companions.
