Where The Mandalorian Shriek-Hawk Team Comes From

Are There More Specialized Teams Like This?

Despite being first introduced inThe Mandalorianseason 3, shriek-hawks themselves are nothing new toStar Wars. The symbol of a shriek-hawk was first seen inStar Wars: The Clone Warson the armor of the Death Watch, most notably Pre Vizsla and his loyal followers. This is no doubt where the Shriek-hawk team derived their name and their symbol from, one that Paz Vizsla has long since donned on his armor inThe Mandalorian. It seems as if Paz is the leader of this team, considering the Armorer commanded him specifically to gather the team for the rescue mission.

It’s worth asking, then, if there are other specialized Mandalorian teams out there.

Most fascinatingly, however, this Shriek-hawk team is one of the first, if not the first, specialized Mandalorian teams to be identified. It’s worth asking, then, if there are other specialized Mandalorian teams out there, perhaps those like the Mandalorian judge in this same episode who focus on training Mandalorian younglings or those who are especially skilled at long-range weapons and rifles. The latter could be how Din Djarin himself earned his Amban phase-pulse blaster rifle, and it may have been a team that he was once a part of.

Either way, these new details about the Shriek-hawk team are absolutely thrilling for those who seek even more Mandalorian lore.It has opened up a world of possibilities for similar specialized teamswithin the Children of the Watch’s faction and even beyond that. It has also added more to the Shriek-hawk team themselves, especially given the fact that the Armorer made clear inThe Mandalorianseason 1 that Mandalorians needed specialized jetpack training before earning one. This simple description enrichesThe Mandalorianeven more, crafting lore that will continue to be developed for years to come.
