You probably know that password managers are ideal for storing your online login details. But did you know that they have many other excellent uses?
1Creating Secure Notes
If none of thebest note-taking appsinterest you, consider storing them in your password manager instead. Many tools, includingBitwarden and 1Password, have a feature that allows you to create secure notes.
you may use these notes in the same way that you would any other note-taking app. Create a note and enter all the details you want. With some password managers, likeBitwarden, you can add extra password protection. Doing so is a good idea if you’re storing particularly sensitive information.
2Storing Your Payment Details
In addition to keeping your password information safe, many password managers let you store your payment details. If you do a lot of online shopping, this can be an ideal way to store information securely and check out without so many delays.
To add your card, include the same information you would when buying something. You’ll need to store your name, card number, and security code. Depending on your chosen password manager, you might consider categorizing these in different folders—especially if you use different cards online.
3Keeping Your IDs Safe
Sometimes, when making an online purchase or signing up for a new service, you’ll need to provide an ID, like your passport or driving license. For example, some services require you to verify your identity before using them. And if you’re traveling internationally, having your passport details handy is always a good idea.
Many password managers have vaults designed for IDs. you’re able to add the associated number and any other key information, such as your home address. This process works almost identically to storing your bank card details.
4An Authentication App
If you haven’t already, you need touse two-factor authentication(2FA). In my opinion, the best form of 2FA is a one-time code from an authenticator app. Microsoft Authenticator and Google Authenticator are two of the best standalone authenticator apps, but plenty of password managers have this feature.

You often download a separate app for your password manager. For example, I use the Bitwarden password manager, which means I also use theBitwarden Authenticator. These tools work the same way as any other authenticator app. Authenticator apps are a great way to increase your security, so I always suggest using one.
